Social Marketing Strategies

Wednesday Jul 30, 2008

Social marketing is becoming increasingly popular as webmasters and business owners are noticing the immense power that this medium has. How does one use social marketing strategies to get the best results?

Content Sharing Websites Start Your Social Marketing Strategy
The first step in your social marketing strategy should be to write as many articles as possible and share these on social content sharing websites such as Squidoo and HubPages. These websites in themselves will attract large amounts of traffic for your pages and so send more traffic to your website and more customers to your business.

Bookmark Your Social Pages
Once you have created social content sharing pages then you should use social bookmarking services to bookmark these pages. You should also use social bookmarking to bookmark everything else possible – your website pages, your blog, other social marketing pages, etc.

Create a Social Networking Profile on MySpace and Facebook
Another important social marketing strategy is to use social networking. Create a profile on MySpace,Facebook and any other social networking websites you know of and then use these to promote your other pages. Some social marketing applications you should consider adding to your Facebook profile include MyLinks (allows you to add your profile pages on Delicious, Digg, MySpace, Twitter and others), and StumbleUpon (shows the latest pages you have bookmarked using StumbleUpon on your Facebook profile).

Use YouTube
YouTube is one of the most popular websites on the internet today and if you can use this to promote your business then you will bring more traffic to your website and customers to your business. You can either create your own promotional videos or run a contest to let others create your videos and then let them send their entries via YouTube. The important thing is to get as many videos on YouTube as possible to ensure that as many people see you as possible.

Lastly, try to integrate as many different social marketing strategies as possible and make use of all the social marketing tools at your disposal for best results.

Buying Advertising Space on Blogs

Wednesday Jul 30, 2008

Blog marketing is powerful and effective but not everyone has the time or money to constantly update a blog, so what can you do? Well, one of the easiest methods is to buy advertising space on somebody else’s blog.

Google Placement Targeting
Google placement targeting is one way you can buy advertising space on blogs if you are using the Google AdWords program. Placement targeting allows you to choose those websites (or blogs) where you would like your ad displayed. You can search for blogs that relate to your target market and then enter their number into the placement targeting section under your new campaign or use Google’s placement targeting search feature to help you find those blogs that relate to your target market.

Approach Blogs Individually
Another way to buy advertising space on blogs is to actually approach the blogs themselves. Once again you will need to look for blogs that accept banner ads or other forms of paid advertising and then approach them to see whether they would be willing to run your ad and how much they would charge for this.

Pay for a Post
Google placement targeting and individually approaching blogs can usually get you a banner ad on these blogs, but what happens if you want to buy a text ad or post on someone’s website? There are a number of websites that offer a bidding process whereby you can pay blog owners to write a post for you that advertises your website and then their readers will read this post and be able to visit your website. You can determine which blogs you pay to write posts for you by how many visitors they receive, their target markets, etc.

If you don’t own a blog or even if you simply want to receive more blog advertising then you may want to buy advertising space on blog by using Google placement targeting, approaching individual blogs for banner ad space, or by paying someone to write a post for you on their blog if it targets the right market and gets enough traffic.

How To Brand Your Business Online

Monday Jul 28, 2008

Online branding is becoming more and more important, not only for those who run an internet-based business but also for those who are running their business primarily offline. What tools can you use to brand your business online?

You Need a Website for Online Business Branding
The first online business branding tool you need to consider is having your own website. Every business today should have their own website. Your website not only attracts more clients to your business through online marketing but it also tells people more about your business who you have mentioned your website address to.

Branded Email
Most business communication today is done through email and so branded emails are important for online business branding. This is done using HTML and adds your business logo, header, business details and perhaps some other items to each of your emails that are sent out. This is the modern version of the old branded business stationery.

Social Media
Another way to brand your business online is to learn how to use social media such as Facebook, MySpace, Squidoo, HubPages and YouTube. All of these websites are attracting huge amounts of traffic daily and if you can learn how to use them to brand your business then you will soon start to see the results.

Articles and Press Releases
Online article marketing and press releases are another way to brand your business online. Write interesting and informative articles with a link to your website in the author’s resource box and a short statement about your company and you will brand yourself as an expert and attract more business.

Online business branding is essential to any business today and you can use your own website, branded email, social media and articles and press releases to brand your business and attract more customers.
